A: Yes. The UV-5G Mini is a GMRS radio and requires an FCC license for legal use in the U.S. However, no exam is required and one license covers your entire family.

Q: Can this connect to GMRS repeaters?
A: Yes. This Mini radio is repeater capable, allowing you to extend communication range significantly—perfect for camping, hiking, or off-road trips.

Q: Can I program channels easily?
A: Yes! Quickly set up channels using BT APP programming—no cables needed. You can also use traditional CPS, CHIRP, or keypad programming if preferred.

Q: Does it have a weather alert feature?
A: No. This two-way radio does not include automatic NOAA weather alerts. However, it can receive and scan NOAA weather channels so you can manually stay updated on local conditions.
